I was born in 1971 in Kerala, India. I graduated as a doctor and came to United Kingdom in 1997. Currently I work as a radiologist in Hull Royal Infirmary.
While in India I made several trips to the Himalayas and it was here that I fell in love with the mountains and the landscape. I wanted to show everyone the beauty of the mountains but at that time could not afford a camera. So in 1997 after I got my first job in UK I bought myself a camera and started to learn photography from books and magazines but mainly by taking a lot of pictures.
In 2000 I won my first competition, which was the landscape category in the practical photography photographer of the year. Over the following years I won several competitions in amateur photography and photography monthly magazines. In 2005 I also managed to win the Go Beyond category of the prestigious Travel Photographer of the year.
In UK my favourite location for landscape photography is Lake District and North Yorkshire. I also go back to India once or twice a year to take landscape and travel pictures.
I get a lot of support and encouragement from my wife Rhitu and my father without whom I would not have been able to combine my profession and my hobby.
My immediate photographic aim is to produce a book on Kerala, showing its beautiful landscape and traditional lifestyle. I hope to produce this in the next couple of years.
